Upon first arrival on a Friday evening, I was slightly concerned about the dining experience we were going to encounter; however, despite first impressions (host station welcoming committee could use some training) it turned out rather well! For 8:30 on a Friday evening, the patronage was rather sparse, unlike the LoneHorn Steakhouse we had originally selected, and then passed by, which was packed. The hosts seemed to have some difficulty figuring out where we could sit, despite the restaurant being only 25% filled. They were finally able to accommodate our request for patio dining by asking a server to wait on us there; we were only a party of 4, and others had been/were also on the patio. (One table remained uncleaned for the entire 90 minutes we were there...and it was the only dirty table there.) Not the best start, you'd think. HOWEVER, our server, Taylor, did a GREAT job taking care of us, anticipating our needs, refilling our drinks, beers, water and bread, checking on our satisfaction with our meals, and all without being obtrusive. The birthday brownie for one of us in our party was wonderful as well, and a great ending to the meal. Our plates were cleared in a timely manner (although she did remove my plate while my husband was eating the remaining fries, which was a bit annoying). The fresh yeast rolls were OHSOAMAZING, especially with the delicious honey butter. The fish/chips and fried shrimp were good, and we loved the steak fries (ahem). We'll give it another try or two before declaring it as a new stand-by restaurant when we can't decide where to eat. We did love the patio, but what kind of place has MLB on TV, but doesn't have ESPN available, especially during March Madness? (Or so they told us...........) The prices were reasonable; even with a few beers and 4 entrees, it was around $22/person before tax/tip.

Went on father's day around 2 pm. Out of chicken fried steak. Admittedly the place was packed. Food was overcooked and cold from sitting on counter. Nothing like i remember this place to be. Service some of the worst I've ever had. To make it all even worse they double charged our card Definitely won't be going back

This was my first time here! Steak was ok but pricy! Restrooms were dirty! Food could be higher quality n better taste just with a little more seasoning.

Best Wedge salad I've had in a while...steak was cooked perfect and we ordered a baked sweet potato as well and perfection. I know it's a chain restaurant but to execute a salad like this makes me smile.

Ordinarily I'm not a chain restaurant person. But I love Lone Star! Service is always wonderful here! My steak always comes out correctly the first time! They have an excellent selection of steaks, chicken, fish, salads and sandwiches. Their French Dip is amazing! The bread is soft and the beef is piled high. There was a great amount of fries on the side. Also before your meal there is bread is served with wonderful butter!

We arrived for lunch on a Saturday around 2pm. There were 5 or 6 tables already seated and people waiting. We checked in and was tOLd it would be 15-20 min to be seated. WTF? wevwere finally seated and it was almost 5 min before a server came to take our order, and yet he was ticked off cause we alteady knew what we wanted at the time of taking our drink order. If this is how theybrun their business, it is no wonder other locations in the Metro have closed.

I went there this evening w/ my family, we ordered 5 courses for each person, and food was served quickly but w/out my food. I was patiently waited for another 30 mins, the waitress came by "once" the entire time and realized my food ain't serve yet, 15 mins later the manager came and told me they r making my food and its "free". Problem is I wanna eat w/ my family, not 45 mins later when everyone already finished. This is the first meal I have w/ my family for the past 30 days, and tyvm. .. yall ruined it successfully. I didn't take their offer, I had no appetite to eat anymore when this whole thing was so mess up.

We checked in with our three children and were told 45 minutes. Fine. My husband took our special needs daughter outside to wait while I stayed in with our boys who were quietly playing games on my phone. After a while they came back in and we found out they had taken us off the list as he went outside and sat a party of 7 home coming kids instead. We would have to start our now hour wait over. We All left and ate at a nearby restaurant with no wait. We will not be coming back to lone star.

Stoped in for lunch yesterday. Service was prompt and food excellent. Steak and baked potato cooked to perfection. Loved the apple cinnamon butter for the rolls. Definitely felt the Texan hospitality.

"Chainstraunts" are, by design, formulaic; ergo, their homogeny defies meaningful critique. That is my reason for seldom offering an opinion on chain eateries. However, sometimes one excels, or fails, the assumed range of product and performance eliciting the need to comment. Such is the case with this establishment. One word will sum it up: Excellent! Menu items enjoyed - and I truly mean enjoyed: Texas Rose - the breaded, deep-fried onion blossom; the Peppercorn Ribeye served with brandy cream sauce; the lettuce wedge dressed with blue cheese. Only the potatoes - my companion's steak fries (mooshy) and my garlic mashed potatoes (too garlicky, bearing an odd greenish cast and barely warm) - were wholly disappointing. Without trying to sound like a snob, I do have the opinion that the wine service protocol could be improved far beyond the bottle arriving at the table partially uncorked with a wing style cork screw still stabbed into the cork and the handles flapping like a trapped metallic bird. Giving the apparatus a final twist, the wait person proceeded to extract the corkscrew from the cork and finished the uncorking by plucking the cork free from the bottle with her fingers. After pouring the wine - no offer to taste first - the wine presentation was unceremoniously concluded when she stuck the cork back into the bottle! It was a very odd wine presentation/service experience. The malbec, however, was quite outstanding. Other than the peculiar wine presentation, the service was sterling. The only reasons I am not giving this establishment the highest rating is due to the fact it is a chainstraunt and the poor quality of the potato sides. Otherwise, I have no reservations against recommending this eatery. Go. Enjoy. Date of Visit: 27Dec2013

My parents and I stopped in for dinner a few days before Christmas after they picked me up from the airport. The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in the door. The food was average steakhouse food, but the service was top notch. Our glasses were always full and our food was out quickly. The manager came around towards the end if our meal to make sure everything was ok. He was very conversational and friendly. My parents don't eat out very often, so they commented on how this was a nice touch.

Decent steak house. My husband got the peppercorn ribeye and said it was well seasoned. I got the mesquite chicken and felt the same. My son got the sirloin and it was delicious. The tea was ok, and the waitstaff decent. The rolls were AMAZING. The salad was blah.

For lunch. Food was excellent. Service was decent. Kind of slow. Clean bathrooms. I had the sirloin dip sandwich. Horseradish sauce was great. Honey mustard sauce with chicken tenders also was great.

Our meals was prepared perfectly although the service was terrible for no more people then there was. Drinks was never full and we got our salads right before we got our meal

Used to love this place but lately it's gone down hill and fast. Tonight pushed me over the edge, after a 10 minute wait to sit in a 60% empty place on a Sunday night at 6pm we were seated in a bar booth. (not by our choice) We were greated by the bartender who got us drinks and gave us a couple minutes to look at the menu. Then we got to watch him make drinks for 15 minutes while multiple servers and the manager walked by many times saying nothing. After finishing our drink we still hadn't been even spoken to so we left... Writing this from Styx down the road who is treating us much better. I've noticed on other visits this place just continues to drop.... It's all piss poor management.... Hell we walked by four people on our way out and nothing.... Well hang a new management sign and maybe I'll be back... Otherwise never again!

Today was our waiter last day of training and our first experience with him. He showed personality from the first hello. We had a great time along with a great dinner. Be sure to ask for Carlos as your waiter.

Stopped in for lunch with my family. The meal started with complinentary rolls with sweet cinnimon butter. The wait staff was very attentive and took away the basket and empty soup cup within a minute of finishing their contents. The soup (loaded baked potato) was a hearty soup and was excellent after coming in out of the rain. My wife and I both ordered the Sidewinder Chicken which we both devoured. My son had the childrens mac and cheese. Much to my surprise it was NOT the usual Kraft brand but something made in house. He's a picky kid and he loved it. One of the nicest aspects of the menu was the lunch selection. There were many options from the main portion of the menu but in smaller portions and mostly for under $10. A steak at a steakhouse for under ten bucks is hard to come by in my experience. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area.

I used to love this place and we came here nearly every time we were in town (we come to KC about once a month). However, this place has gone way downhill. The service is mediocre (as in, they barely ever bother to visit your table). The food is still good, if you can get it. Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids all ordered at the same time, and all the food came out except mine. A few minutes later then manager came out to say they had burnt my steak and it would be a few more minutes to make a new one. About 20 minutes later everybody else was done eating and my food was nowhere in sight. I told them never mind and we would just take our check. They didn't even bother to comp anything off our order! At least they didn't charge me for the steak they never served me. I regret having to provide such a negative review, especially since this place used to be so good. Unfortunately, this was our second bad experience in a row with them.
